My First Book Talk via ZOOM

What fun! This was my 10th “Milepost 75” Book talk and my first on Zoom. I loved sharing stories across the miles with many old friends from the very first book club I ever joined. And, it was especially sweet because Arnie and I were both members.

Tucson Festival of Books - At the festival, I entered the Indie Author Reimagined Experience and was awarded a selling and signing, table for a three-hour slot in the Indie Author Pavilion. My publisher, Thea Rademacher, (Flint Hills Publishing) provided a wealth of valuable support. During my three hours at the pavilion, people stopped by, perused my book, and sometimes even bought a copy!

One woman walked up and hovered over the table with a copy of Milepost 75 in her hand. “I read your book, and you said if you inspired at least one person, you’d be satisfied." she stated. "Well, I’m that one person. You inspired me and I’d like you to sign my book.”

This was just one of the many sweet encounters at the Indie Pavilion!

My daughter-in-law, Lauren, hosted a Milepost 75 book discussion with her book club and circle of friends. It was a delightful evening filled with good food and generous support of my memoir. I had already met many members of this group since we had spent an afternoon stamping, writing, and addressing non-partisan “Get Out to Vote” post cards. What a collegial and comfortable evening. Even Hattie, our dog, seemed interested, but maybe she was just waiting for some crumbs.
